I've been reading them since I was a wee lad, amazed at Frank Miller's Daredevil or Paul Levitz' Legion of Super-Heroes. The real wonder of sci fi, comics and fantasy literature is that it gives the mind freedom, speaks to the possibility of more than what we see in our everyday lives.
So, I read, and I started reviewing, and I'm still reviewing, and there that all is. Your mileage may vary. I don't use ratings anymore (everything ended up between 5-7 after a while, with occasional spikes upwards, and me learning to avoid anything that scored lower), but you get a sense of what I like and why. Earlier reviews went farther to include neophytes who know nothing of the property. That stopped when I stopped getting paid to do it. Caveat emptor, and all that. Here's the ugly truth ...
