OVERVIEW:
Rap Pages was my second national magazine editing job. Hired originally by Sheena Lester and kept on in a variety of contexts by dream hampton and Allen Gordon, I wrote columns, reviews, managed the whole news section, designed and laid out pages, and finally with co-editor Jay Babcock, created the framework for what would become Rappages.com, the magazine's website. Of course, all of that was washed away elegantly when Flynt Publications sold the magazine, but for one shining moment, indeed, it was Camelot.
